About Me
Hi, I’m James, and I photograph weddings on a mix of digital and a whole lot of film. Seriously, if I ever go broke, it’ll be Kodak’s fault.
I’m a UK film wedding photographer with a soft spot for the kind of images that feel real, personal, and full of life.
I’ve been photographing weddings for over a decade now, and I still feel so grateful that I get to make such meaningful work for a living.
For me, it’s not about taking photos that could have been taken at any other wedding. It’s about creating photographs that feel true to you and could only ever have been made at your wedding, shaped by the unique set of circumstances that brought you to this point, and the amazing people you’ve chosen to celebrate with.
I do this by investing in you as a couple, and getting to know your story and what matters most to you, so your photos can reflect that.
I’m not interested in only capturing the big moments of the day, or the expected ones. I’m drawn to the smaller moments. The glances, the hand squeezes, the hugs that last a second longer. The quiet, in between bits that no one else sees, but somehow say everything. That’s the stuff that really gets me.
My work is centered around capturing weddings in a way that feels elegant, heartfelt, and joyful, but still you. Whether it’s film or digital, I want the photos to feel the way the day really felt.
Putting your trust in someone to capture your special day is huge and it completely paid off with James.
I live in a little village just outside Canterbury with my lovely wife, Bethany, and our three boys, so life is pretty full, and noisy, in the best kind of way.
I’m not the best at talking about myself, but here are a few facts:
I grew up in Brussels, so French is my first language.
I basically lived on my longboard throughout uni.
I’m a massive high fantasy and manga nerd.
I’m a film photography addict. It’s gotten a little bit out of hand, don’t ask me how many film cameras I have.
Film is where my heart is. It inspires how I shoot everything, those soft, real, imperfect frames that somehow feel like they could’ve been taken yesterday or 50 years ago.
If you’re after a UK film wedding photographer who’s all about photos that feel personal and full of character, less about perfectly curated moments and more about what it actually felt like, then I think we could be a good fit.
