Great Gatsby Wedding at Hawkstone Hall – Sophie & Dan
“The photos are absolutely incredible! We’re honestly blown away. We feel so lucky to have had you there.”- Sophie & Dan
Sophie sent me that message not long after I delivered their previews, and I don’t mind admitting I had the biggest smile on my face when I read it.
I’m still thinking about their Hawkstone Hall wedding now. It was one of those days that had style, energy, and so much personality, the kind of wedding that reminds me why I love doing this so much.
If you’ve never been to Hawkstone Hall, it really is a special place. It has this sense of grandeur to it, but never feels cold or overly formal. There’s character everywhere you look, from the long corridors to the gardens to the way the light falls through the building. It’s a venue that lends itself so well to a wedding that feels both elegant and full of life.
Sophie and Dan brought exactly that.
Their Hawkstone Hall wedding had a subtle Great Gatsby feel running through it, glamorous, stylish, and beautifully considered, but never too much. Nothing felt forced. Everything felt like them. Sophie had this calm, understated elegance about her all day, and Dan was the kind of person who made everyone feel at ease straight away. Together, they brought such a good energy to the whole day.
There were so many moments that stood out. The ceremony in the chapel felt intimate and still in that way that makes everything else disappear for a little while. Later on, the drinks reception outside had that soft evening light that always feels a bit magic. Then the party started, and everything shifted in the best way. The dance floor was full, people were fully letting go, and the whole thing had that brilliant sense of joyful chaos that makes a wedding so fun to photograph.
That’s what I loved most about this Hawkstone Hall wedding. It felt stylish, yes, but it also felt relaxed. Emotional. Fun. Nothing put on, nothing overly polished, just a really good day with people fully present in it.
Sophie and Dan, thank you for having me there. Thank you for trusting me, for making me feel so welcome, and for throwing one hell of a party.
If you’re planning a Hawkstone Hall wedding and want photographs that feel elegant, natural, and full of life, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
