St Mary the Virgin, Minster church wedding

From start to finish, I had the very best of times at Nicole and Ricky's wedding. I couldn't have asked for a more special day to be a part of. We started off the day in their beautiful local church, St Mary the Virgin, Minster. This was a stunning location for their marriage and I loved the opportunity to photograph here. It was a wonderfully traditional back drop with Nicole and Ricky's own stamp on it. And of course, it was no hardship at all to photograph the happy couple here. Their raw emotions were as plain as day and I couldn't ask for a more joyful couple to capture. We then moved onto their home made reception in a family friends back garden. It really felt like the whole guest list, me included, were all part of their extended family. It didn't hurt that Nicole and Ricky looked after us all so well! The setting was beautiful and the perfect backdrop to their celebration. The atmosphere they had created was relaxed and full of joy, you could see that everyone was having the best time. The maqrquee was beautifully decorated throughout as you'll be able to see in the photographs below. They really did think through every detail! Nicole and Ricky are a great couple, I captured so many great moments of them throughout the day. They were clearly just over-joyed to be celebrating together and with all their family and friends and they put together such a great day. Their wedding at St Mary the Virgin, Minster was one of the best from my year and I'm so pleased to be able to share my favourite moments from it below. I'll now hand over to Nicole & Ricky to tell you a bit more about their wedding day! What made your day unique? It was so home made and DIY making it very authentic us! What was your experience of having me as your photographer? Loved it! You were more than just a photographer at our wedding. You were one of the guests and fully embraced the day and the people there which made for great photos that represent how much fun we all had. What was the best decision you made while planning the wedding? To do it all ourselves but with as little stress as possible. The day was so true to who we are. What was your favourite moment of the day? Impossible question!! The whole day felt like 5 minutes. It was a big happy blur from the moment I stepped inside the church to the end of the night. What was the hardest decision you made while planning the wedding? The one thing that was always set for me was the church so probably working out logistically how everything else would work around that Do you have any advice for people planning their wedding? Relax and enjoy it. Don’t try to make it something you’re not, it’s about the people and the love rather than the most expensive everything... and be prepared to have the best day of your lives!
