Worthing Wedding photographer - Molly & Josh

How to condense a day of wonderful Molly and Josh into just a short introduction to their own take on their wedding?! Their insights are a lot more interesting than my own so I will try and keep it short. Molly and Josh invited me to be their Worthing Wedding photographer and man oh man did I have a good day! The whole day was over flowing with beauty, joy and celebration. A beautiful couple, beautiful friends and family and a beautiful setting. They got married in St Mary's Church which is the church Josh grew up in. As Molly grew up in America, it was really lovely to see their cultures and backgrounds come together in this quaint quintessential setting. We moved onto The Fox in Patching and I just enjoyed myself thoroughly as I watched the party ensue from behind the lens. These guys know how to throw a party! I couldn't have been more thrilled to be a part of the whole day- I'm sure you're all jealous just looking through the photos!

"James was everything I was looking for in a photographer! He joined in the fun of our wedding day but also stayed in the back and quietly captured the most precious memories. James was such a lovely photographer and his photos are absolutely incredible. I was in tears reliving my wedding day when I received the photos. He did such an amazing job retelling my entire wedding day!"- Molly

Here are some of their thoughts on their lovely day...

How did you meet? And how long have you been together?

Josh and I met in January of 2015 in Denver Colorado. We both decided to take a gap year after our schooling and ended up in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) doing a discipleship training school together. We spent three months in Denver together growing in our friendship and then went to China for our 2 month outreach. It was then that we realized how compatible were and how much our relationship had grown in such a short amount of time. So we started our relationship right before Josh went back to England in June 2015 and it was about 2 years of on and off again long distance before we got married.

How did Josh propose?

Josh took me on a bike ride up the South Downs right before sunset. And we found a nice spot to sit with a beautiful view of the downs and then he made a heartfelt speech about how much he loved me and how much our relationship meant to him. It was romantic and a complete surprise!

What made you decide to get married where you did?

We decided to get married in England at the Church in Worthing where Josh grow had grown up because his church meant a lot to him. Also because I’m from America and most of my family had never left America so I thought it would be such a good excuse for them to travel and see England.

How many guests did you have?

We had 100 people at our reception and about 200 at the service.

How long did you take you take to plan the wedding?

We were engaged for 11 months and I started planning right away!

How would you describe your wedding day in 2 sentences?

It was more wonderful than I could have ever expected or planned it to be. I spent a whole year planning out all the perfect little details of our wedding and when I think back on it all I can think about is the love that Josh and I felt and shared with our friends and family.

How did you choose your Worthing wedding photographer?

I heard about James through another couple who had him at their wedding and they highly recommended him. I looked through his portfolios and facetimed him to talk about what I envisioned and he was the perfect fit for us.

What was your experience of working with James as your photographer?

James was the most incredible photographer. He came and photographed my bridesmaids and I getting ready hours before the service even began and stayed all the way until we left the reception. We all loved him! I was a little nervous having a photographer being apart of every second of the biggest most important day of my life but I was quickly relieved after getting to know him! James is easygoing and personable. He talked to us and made us laugh while we got ready but also did his own thing. He has a style that is very subtle, he captures moments without making you pose or fake anything and i loved that! Looking back at my wedding photos its as if i'm reliving my wedding day. James told the story of my wedding day. Each and every photo captures an emotion or a memory that I get to relive for the rest of my life through these photos.

What were your special moments or highlights of the day?

The whole entire day was my special moment ;)

What advice would you give other couples?

Remember to stay true to yourself and your fiance. I remember someone asked me what the “theme” of my wedding was and i had no idea what my “theme” was! How do you have a theme for your wedding and was i suppose to have one!? I spent an entire week looking up wedding themes and contemplating every decoration I had already choose because it didn’t fit a theme. But really, im not much of a theme person. And in the end I stuck with what my husband and I loved and im so glad I did. Don’t follow what everyone else is doing this year, stay true to yourself.

What was your biggest surprise of the day?

I was surprised at how emotional the speeches were and how loved I felt hearing my dad, josh, my maid of honor and joshs best man give their speeches.
