I recommend engagement photos all the time and to any engaged couple. Perhaps you've just got engaged and want to use the photos for the big announcement. Or maybe the wedding is just around the corner. Either way, it is my number one top tip for brides and grooms to be. This is for so many reasons but hopefully you'll see why with this blog post! Katy, Gary and I went to Blean Woods in Canterbury on a recent Sunday morning. We had an absolutely awesome time together from the off. We went for a stroll around the woods and an hour or so later, came back with some great engagement photos. These really show them well as a couple- relaxed and a lot of fun.
Why engagement photos are a must
Within the time we spent together, we went from never having met in person to having a really fun time together. An engagement shoot is another great excuse to meet my couples before the wedding. I like to do as much as possible so my couples feel like they know me. The last thing you want is to feel surrounded by strangers on your wedding day! And selfishly, I get to meet a lot of brilliant people in the process! It also gave Katy and Gary a chance to get used to being in front of a camera. Being the sole focus of a photographer can take some getting used to. And the best way to practice is with an engagement shoot! It's a great way for couples to get used to my style and for me to get used to them. Those two simple things are the biggest reasons I love engagement photos. Both make for relaxed and emotion filled photographs. Most of all, it really helps any bride and groom to forget the camera is even there and just be themselves. Katy and Gary's wedding at the end of May and I can't wait! These two are so much fun and just great to be around. Hopefully you can see that in their engagement photos! And from what I've heard, their wedding day promises to be a brilliant day as well. So bring it on!
